The 2013 – 2014 winter will go down in the books as a historic benchmark in climate extremes that many believe was a result of the solar vortex event that took place in the northern hemisphere. There were actually two separate vortex incidents about a month apart that brought extreme cold and dry conditions to the otherwise mild climate of the Pacific Northwest in December and again in late January. More information on this topic will be posted in the coming weeks.
Comments welcome as always…
Update: Since Apr 16, I have now taken 46 gophers and 6 moles off of 8+ acres. I have 3 large and 2 regulate gopher traps. The large seem to work the best if the hole is large enough. I have modified them slightly to better allow the levers to release. The only problem with moles, is mine seem to do a lot of traveling around. It just takes time.
Thanks, Dan Moehnke.
