CINCH Traps are the leaders in organic mole control and have been a trusted American brand since 1909. All of our products are built to last year after year from American steel and are manufactured in the USA in Oregon. We take pride in our superior quality and customer service. Remember, if it’s not stamped “CINCH” then it is not the original!

  • CINCH Traps are quality crafted out of durable and long lasting galvanized steel making it simple to trap and kill moles the first time.
  • There is no way a mole will be able to steal this trap, it is designed to have one end wider than the hole so the mole cannot pull it down the tunnel.
  • Designed so you can tell when the trap has been triggered without having to remove the mole. You can easily release the trap and leave the dead mole in the tunnel.
  • Includes lawn flags so you know right where your CINCH Traps are located on your property.

So here’s my story. First of all, I’ve no particular interest in promoting any particular mole trap. I just want to let folks know what worked (and didn’t) for me.

About five weeks ago I began to notice that I had a new mole problem in my yard. Two to four new mounds would be noticed each morning. I had a similar problem last year and a ‘professional’ mole trapper caught one and the problem went away for several months.

I initially bought three different brands of traps (Macabee, Talprid, and Victor) and set them out following the manufacturers instructions. Because I have a big lawn and wanted to construct a valid ‘scientific’ experiment I set out six of each trap in various locations throughout the lawn. Each morning I would check the Macabee and Victor traps and usually I would see that the traps had been covered by dirt. To me this showed that the holes were active. However, in all these cases the traps failed to trigger despite proof of fresh mole activity. The Talprid trap was occasionally triggered but no evidence of mole demise was found…and fresh mole activity was noted the next day.

I then recalled the brand of trap that the mole trapper from last year had employed. A little internet search showed me that it was the Cinch brand mole trap. I purchased several Cinch traps and, after they arrived, began to incorporate them into my experiment.

I kept using the Victor and Macabee along with the Cinch traps despite my yard looking like a miniature movie set of a battlefield with mini-craters everywhere. But…success! Two days after beginning use of the Cinch traps I caught the first of three moles. The Victor and Macabee traps continued to be buried, rarely triggered, and never caught anything.

Three weeks later I still haven’t had moles return. If they do I’ll doubt I’ll use anything but the Cinch traps.

Analysis: I know some writers swear by other brands and I have no doubt that they have a reason for doing so. They didn’t work me. The Cinch traps did. I’ve also had several other friends, neighbors, and acquaintances relay similar success stories with this particular trap.

Cinch Traps outperform all other traps I have used.
Over the last few years I have purchased 6 different style/brand traps
Most traps averaged about 30-40% in capture rate. One brand never caught a gopher.
The Cinch ‘Medium Mole’, has a 90% success rate on the gophers in my area of Southern California.

Many years ago this trap was recommended by my mother-in-law. Yeah, she was right again!! Here in So California we have big gophers, so we use the medium mole trap. I’ve caught gophers in less than a minute from setting the trap, and rarely does a trap stay empty overnight. In 2011 I decided to count the gophers caught on my property (about 0.8 acres about half of it being garden/landscaped, etc). The count is in: 23 gophers, 14 of which came from ONE RUN!! I place the trap, catch a gopher, then leave the hole open to see if it gets filled in again. Well, this morning I plucked the second gopher of 2012 from that same run — must be a gopher interstate. With the Cinch, I get them before they do any significant damage — amazing.

These are great traps but they have one negative: the spring metal is not stainless not galvanized, therefore they rust fairly quickly. Having to treat them with WD-40 or something is a drag and smells too. The price could be a bit higher to pay for a stainless upgrade.

When the neighbor’s mole moved into our yard, I caught it with Cinch Traps while he messed around with ‘pros’, chemicals and other traps.
This happens whenever a mole takes up residence in his old tunnels. I let the moles chew up his yard until they move into mine, then I catch them for him.
I’ve considered leaving a dead mole in his mailbox with the web address for Cinch Traps. No, better not…
Moles are a pain. Catching them with Cinch Traps is satisfying!

I am a 67 year old lady and I wanted to praise this product. I have used many traps to get rid of my moles and gophers over the years. Many of these traps I can honestly say scared me when I tried to set and use them. I always felt like I was going to loose a finger. However, these traps are easy to set and my hand is away from the jaw end and spring lever wire. I feel complete safe when using these traps. I appreciate the design of the Cinch Traps. Very user friendly.

The only thing I had ever trapped before was mice, so I had no experience in trapping moles. However, now that I have been using the Cinch Traps, I am an expert!! You cannot go wrong with these traps. I now take care of my neighbors yards. Love these traps!!!

    :

Most effective product I have ever used. Let me tell you. I have used every trap known to man. With very little success. At one point I felt like the moles knew exactly what I was doing and what trap I was trying to get them with. Then ran into the cinch traps. These traps have made my year. 13 trapped moles later and my yard looks great. Amazing product!!!

Best mole traps on the planet. I caught 13 this past year, 30+ the previous. My 5 acres is mostly mole-free now.

Had a pesky mole that decided to make dirt mounds all over my lawn. Installed in one of the holes while I was on vacation, and when I came back, the trap had been sprung! I haven’t seen a mole hill since!

I had moles destroying my garden over the past few summers. I say it in past tense form because the moles are gone. Amazing product!! Very effective!!

I’ve spent years unsuccessfully trying to get rid of moles. Eventually I tried these small mole traps. Less than an hour after planting my first trap at a fresh mound I caught a broad footed mole. The next attempt was not on a fresh mound. After several days I noticed that fresh activity in the trap hole but it didn’t trigger. I carefully cleaned out the hole, reset the trap and caught another mole in less than an hour. So clean up all your mounds. Wait for fresh activity. Completely clean out access to the tunnel. Set a trap in both directions of the tunnel without covering it up and you will get your mole.
